Laurie Lausi is the director of East Singers, Concert Choir, Vocal Workshop, Belles of East and Voce. Ms. Lausi is a cum laude graduate of Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX where she studied conducting with Dr. Lloyd Hawthorne. She earned her Master of Music Education at Westminster Choir College in Princeton. Previous to her years at East, Ms. Lausi taught at Covington Middle School in Austin, TX, Purple Sage Elementary in Round Rock, TX and Lincoln and Ravinia Schools in Highland Park, IL. She has served on the board of the New Jersey American Choral Directors Association (NJ-ACDA) as Senior High R&S Chair and President. Her guest conducting experiences include the Delaware Junior High All-State Chorus, the Maryland Junior All-State Chorus, and the Senior High All-South Jersey Chorus. Ms. Lausi made her Carnegie Hall conducting debut in 1997 with East Singers.

Recently, East was awarded the Character 2015 Promising Practices because of the annual East Coffee House through the work of Mrs. Lausi, East Singers and the Thespian Society.
